The Future of Thermoforming: Magic Vac Inc. Wins Industry Award

Small-town Factory Earns Top Honors for Thermoforming Excellence

Woods Cross, Utah— May, 27 2025 — Magic Vac Inc., Utah’s own leader in vacuum forming solutions, is proud to announce that it has been awarded the Silver prize in the prestigious Parts Competition at the SPE (Society of Plastics Engineers) Thermoforming Conference held in Atlanta, Georgia, from May 19-21, 2025.

The SPE Thermoforming Conference Parts Competition showcases the latest advances and innovations in thermoforming design and applications. This global competition brings together thermoforming businesses, toolmakers, and sheet suppliers to celebrate excellence in the industry. Submissions include final thermoformed components produced from production tooling. Judging is based on design innovation, functionality, and manufacturing efficiency.

Magic Vac Inc. received top honors for its innovative HB-1 seat, an anomaly in the plastics industry due to sophistication of design and level of difficulty in material.  The part, made as a critical component of the “Cascade Tandem Hiking Cart” for Huckleberry Hiking, demonstrated excellence in 3d tooling, TPO utilization, design complexity, and overall functionality. Tooling for the part was provided by Catalysis Additive Tooling and the material was sourced from Primex.
